ORIGIN: Planet Earth, specifically Birmingham, relocated at the age of 8 years to the ancient Kingdom of Mercia, where she has remained on Earth – based assignment ever since.

With more than 20 years of experience singing with various bands and as a soloist, Emma has accumulated considerable flight time across the musical universe. She now forms part of Escape Pod’s vocal section alongside Amanda, creating a formidable two-person harmonic communications system capable of transmitting musical signals across considerable distances.

Although primarily deployed on backing vocals, Emma has a remarkably powerful voice when called upon for lead duties. Such deployments are relatively rare, but when the occasion arises, the Escape Pod’s engines have been known to experience an entirely unexpected increase in thrust.

Emma enjoys being part of the Escape Pod crew for two very important reasons: comaraderie and the fact that somebody else has to set up the PA.

When not transmitting vocal frequencies, Emma can be found operating the Pod’s officially sanctioned percussion department, deploying tambourine and maracas whenever additional rhythmic propulsion is required. Her percussion equipment has been tested extensivly and is believed to be fully compliant with intergalactic safety regulations.

CREW FUNCTION: Supplying vocal harmonies, occasionally heavy-duty lead-vocal propulsion, rhythmic assistance and essential crew morale – while leaving the heavy equipment to somebody else.

KNOWN AS: The Cosmic Vocalist.

SPECIAL ABILITY: Can provide vocal harmonies while simultaneously operating hand percussion. Also possess a highly developed instinct for identifying exactly when the PA has already been set up.

MISSION STATUS: Vocal systems fully operational. Lead vocal boosters available when required. Tambourine secured. Maracas at the ready. PA – thankfully someone else’s problem.
