Amanda Griffin - Backing Vocals & Whistle | The Cosmic Harmoniser

ORIGIN: Planet Harmonia – a peaceful little world somewhere in the musical outer reaches, where harmony is considered a basic life-support system and nobody is permitted to sing the melody without first checking the blend.

Amanda’s vocal mission began at the age of 11 years, when she joined her first choir. Since then, she has accumulated considerable choral flight time, singing in church choirs, church bands and various vocal ensembles throughout the years. Her most recent major terrestrial deployment saw her performing as a backing vocalist at the iconic Cadogan Hall in London, supporting soul and jazz legend Madeline Bell.

Within Escape Pod, Amanda provides what she describes as a ‘smooth, delicious under-layer’. Mission control can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an official Deliciousness Measurement System, but the results appear to be positive.

Amanda comes from a decidedly musical family, with both her Father and brother being talented musicians. Over the years she has also attempted to expand her own instrumental capabilities, turning her attention to the piano, violin and oboe. Escape Pod’s official records describe these as ‘ongoing exploratory missions’.

When she’s not performing under controlled musical conditions, amanda is perfectly capable of abandoning all known vocal protocols and heading for karaoke with frinds at the space station sited at the rear of Titania.

With her wealth of choral experience, musical versatility and instinct for harmonies, Amanda is an important part of Escape Pod’s vocal communications system – quietly supplying the harmonic architecture that helps turn several individual voices into one cohesive musical transmission.
