ORIGIN: Rosette Nebula – where solar winds are shaped into interstellar fanfares, predominantly in B flat.

Charlotte’s musical mission launched at aged 6 years, when she first made contact with a violin. By the age of 14 years she intercepted the trumpet signal – and apparently the horn had been waiting for her transmission all along.

Classically trained to Commander level, she holds both a BMus and an MA in music from the universities of Hull and York. Her flight log includes tours across the USA and Europe with various bands and orchestras, with a landing at The Royal Albert Hall. Before beaming aboard the Escape Pod, Charlotte served with DC Fontana alongside fellow Pod members, Mark Mortimer and James Stanley.

Away from the Escape Pod, she writes her own music and collaborates with other musicians. Two of her collaborative tracks were selected for inclusion on British Airways flights, taking her music considerably further into the atmosphere.

She also provides trumpet overdrive for other artists’ recordings and missions, most recently with Martin Reynolds & The Minor Detours.

CREW FUNCTION: Provides the high-pitched icing on the intergalactic musical cake.

KNOWN AS: The Galactic Horn Commander

SPECIAL ABILITY: Able to blow out solar flares from several light-years away. Can also provide a remarkable Reveille alarm clock when the crew needs waking from hypersleep.

MISSION STATUS: Horns fully horny, operational and blowing. Omission of other gases currently being monitored.
