Paul "Pablo" Tunnicliffe - Saxophone | Cosmic Saxman

ORIGIN: Planet Earth, specifically Leicestershire – a relatively quiet corner of the planet from which Pablo has been known to disappear into the wilderness in search of the funk.

Pablo’s musical mission began with Dance Stance, a band named after the Dexy’s Midnight Runners song, with whom he spent 10 years travelling throughout the UK. They even made a televised appearance on ‘Opportunity Knocks’, hosted by Bob Monkhouse – providing definitive proof that Pablo’s sax had already achieved terrestrial broadcast status long before joining Escape Pod.

Following his Dance Stance mission, Pablo went on to play with the Groovy Gang, continuing his exploration of the funkier regions of the musical universe. His sonic navigation system has been calibrated by influences including; The Crusaders, King Curtis and Maceo Parker, while his favourite terrestrial recording remains Stevie Wonder’s ‘Songs in the Key of Life’.

Pablo brings a wealth of experience, groove and considerable saxophonic firepower to Escape Pod. He is also the crew member most likely to leave the vessel in search of refreshments at the bar – or to suddenly be discovered halfway up a mountain on the planet Honkonia in the Sax IV system.
